Minnetonka Yacht Club to Host 120th Anniversary of Inter-Lake Regatta
DEEPHAVEN, MN (Jul. 1, 2015) -- Minnetonka Yacht Club (MYC) will be hosting the 2015 Inter-Lake Regatta July 31 through August 2 on Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota. E, C, MC and X fleet members of the Inter-Lake community and all interested Optimist sailors are invited to participate in this year’s regatta which marks the 120th anniversary of the event.
"We made an effort this year to make the 120th Inter-Lake Regatta a family friendly event that truly embodies the sailing community and the history of the regatta," said Pat Hughes, regatta co-chair and MYC member. "This will be the first year the regatta will include an Optimist fleet and events and activities for every generation."
All members of the Inter-Lake; Lake Calhoun, Clear Lake, Harriet, Lotawana, Minnetonka, Okoboji, Upper Minnetonka, White Bear and this year’s guest club, Gull Lake, are encouraged to attend.
This year, a total of five races are planned for E, C, MC and X fleets on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2. The Optimist fleet will sail Saturday only on their own course.
To celebrate the 120th year, MYC will be holding social activities for the entire sailing family on Friday and Saturday night.
